The Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH) is Jamaica’s flagship initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable families by providing critical assistance in health, education, and social welfare. This transformative programme is managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) and has played a pivotal role in breaking cycles of poverty, and empowering individuals to achieve self-reliance.

In collaboration with MLSS, we are delighted to provide this comprehensive guide, capturing the essential details discussed during the Serenity Resource Connector Community Corner Forum. This forum allowed participants to explore PATH (Jamaica) benefits, eligibility criteria, and the life-changing impact it has had on countless Jamaican families.

What is PATH?

PATH is a conditional cash transfer programme designed to:

  • Support vulnerable families with financial grants.

  • Ensure children receive education and healthcare.

  • Facilitate skill development for employment and independence.

  • Birth certificates for all family members.

  • Medical verification for individuals with disabilities.

Application Steps:

  1. Visit your local PATH Parish Office or participate in community outreach events.

  2. Complete the application form, providing detailed family information.

  3. Await a social worker's verification visit to confirm eligibility.

  4. If approved, benefits commence within two payment cycles (approximately four months).

Appeals Process:

Applicants not initially approved can file an appeal, enabling further review by a dedicated committee.

Success Stories: Changing Lives Across Jamaica
